Associations call for the lifting of unnecessary travel restrictions
20 October 2021: ERA, alongside fellow travel and tourism associations welcome the discussions which are currently taking place between Member States about the revision of Council Recommendations on travel restrictions. Amongst others, the Council is considering updating the criteria behind the colour-coded EU travel restrictions map, to include vaccination and hospitalisation rates and not only the incidence rate. The associations have issued a position paper that was distributed to transport and tourism attachés.

14 German organisations propose short-haul flight ban
21 October 2021: In Germany, 14 organisations from the environmental and mobility transition are calling for an immediate ban on ultra-short-haul flights and a socially just and ecological expansion of railway. Information session on use of EU DCC in booking systems
29 October 2021: The European Commission is organising an information session on the latest release of the EU Digital Covid Certificate guidelines on the use of Digital Covid Certificates in traveller and online booking scenarios. The guidelines provide specifications for the support functions and services applicable to travel booking/check-in scenarios as well as some additional features enhancing the EU DCC digital wallet.
Feedback to EC on 2022 slot relief
8 November 2021: ERA, alongside fellow airline associations AACO, AAPA, AIRE, A4A and IATA, has written a letter to Henrik Hololei and Filip Cornelis, urging DG MOVE to adopt a pragmatic and realistic approach when considering the slot use ratio for next summer. The associations call on the Commission for a maximum 60 per cent slot use ratio given the uneven recovery.
