Day one
Day one of the ERA Regional Airline Conference 2016 opened in Prague on 6 April. This annual event increases in popularity every year and the 2016 conference was completely sold out.
The Airline and Airport CEOs’ Breakfast and Meeting, which included an informative keynote address from Luc Tytgat, Director, EASA, on changes to EASA’s Basic Regulation, kick-started the day. This was followed by a networking lunch with the conference’s first open session straight after.

Day 1
The ERA General Assembly 2016 in Madrid is now in full swing. The assembly opened with a golf tournament and the beginners’ golf clinic at the Real Sociedad Hipica Española Club De Campo, sponsored by ERA members FlightSafety International and Embraer, and delegates were given the opportunity to take part in the Madrid city tour which showcased some of the wonderful sights that the city has to offer.

Day three of the conference started with ‘Miracle on the Hudson’, a fascinating account of US Airways Flight US1549 landing on the Hudson River in New York by its co-pilot, Jeff Skiles. The day continued with the award winners’ news conference with Airline of the Year Gold award winner Binter presenting.
Day 2 Report
Day 2
Day two of the ERA General Assembly started with the airline and airport CEOs’ breakfast, where senior executives from ERA’s airline and airports as well as ERA’s board met up with trade journalists over coffee and breakfast. The day continued with the CEOs’ meeting, and the morning also hosted the second session of the operations group and the members’ news conferences, where journalists learned about the latest news from GE Aviation, Pratt & Whitney Canada, SuperJet, Embraer, Mitsubishi Regional Aircraft, ATR, Bombardier and AeroCentury.
Report on 2016 media briefing
The European Regions Airline Association held its annual media briefing on Friday 4 March 2016 at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London. The event was hosted by Simon McNamara, ERA’s Director General, along with Boet Kreiken, ERA’s President with guest speaker Jonathan Sullivan, Managing Director of Seabury Aviation Consulting.
