Day 1
The ERA General Assembly 2016 in Madrid is now in full swing. The assembly opened with a golf tournament and the beginners’ golf clinic at the Real Sociedad Hipica Española Club De Campo, sponsored by ERA members FlightSafety International and Embraer, and delegates were given the opportunity to take part in the Madrid city tour which showcased some of the wonderful sights that the city has to offer.
Back in the conference hotel, ERA hosted the ERA operations group during the afternoon. The operations group meets three times a year with an aim to improve the operational and cost efficiency of flight and ground operations amongst members.
The members’ exhibition, running over the three days of the assembly, opened in the evening with over 30 ERA members showcasing their products, and the exhibition area also hosted the welcome reception in the evening where delegates networked with each other over refreshments.
Simon McNamara, ERA Director General, says: “Today has been an excellent start to the ERA General Assembly. It is great to see so many members from all over Europe attending the assembly to showcase their products, network and learn about the latest issues and opportunities through different meetings and sessions. I’m looking forward to the next two days and encourage everyone to make the most of the exhibition and all the sessions and presentations on the agenda.”
