Embraer developing electric aircraft
Embraer unveiled today, on the eve of its 50th anniversary, images of its demonstrator aircraft with 100 per cent electric propulsion technology, which is currently under development. The prototype has a special paint scheme and is ready to receive systems and components.
The aircraft's electric motor and controller are being manufactured by WEG at the company's headquarters in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil, as part of the scientific and technological co-operation agreement for joint development of electrification technologies.
Rolls-Royce and Norwegian airline Widerøe launch joint research programme on zero-emissions aviation
Leading industrial technology company Rolls-Royce and Widerøe, the largest regional airline in Scandinavia, have launched a joint research programme on zero-emissions aviation. The programme is part of the airline´s ambition to replace and electrify its regional fleet of 30+ planes by 2030. The news was announced at a Clean Aerospace event at the British Embassy in Oslo Norway.

Memorandum of co-operation between ERA and Flight Safety Foundation
ERA (European Regions Airline Association) has signed a Memorandum of Co-operation with the non-profit safety organisation Flight Safety Foundation. Our second day in Juan-les-Pins kicked off with the invite-only Airline and Airport CEOs’ Breakfast, followed by the Airline and Airport CEOs’ Meeting, both held at the nearby Marriott Hotel. The meeting began with a presentation from Faye Malarkey-Black, President and CEO of Regional Airline Association in the US.
