The intergovernmental organisation provides regular updates to ERA on the performance of its airline members.

The agreement at ICAO demonstrates that the aviation industry is determined to live up to its climate change commitments and play its part in meeting international goals for greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

The EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) is a cornerstone of the EU's policy to combat climate change and its key tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions cost-effectively. CORSIA vs EU ETS
In February 2017, the European Commission (EC) made a proposal for the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) prolonging the existing temporary limited scope of the scheme that applies to flights within the European Economic Area (EEA) only.
