11 June 2024: Article 5 of the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation aims to addresses economic tankering practices by airlines and mandates that airlines must uplift a minimum of 90 per cent of their yearly aviation taxi and trip fuel requirement from any EU airport that has more than 800,000 departing passengers per year.

AZEA publishes vision document at its General Assembly in Berlin
11 June 2024: At the aerospace exhibition ILA Berlin, the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA) presented a report on its vision for enabling hydrogen and electricity-powered aircraft, showing aviation’s determination to invest in new technologies with the aim to become more sustainable.
ECAC holds seventh Environmental Forum
11 June 2024: ERA took part in the ECAC Environmental Forum held in DGAC offices in Paris on 29 May to discuss regulatory and legislative updates. The Forum focused on the current hot topics for the aviation climate transition.
EU election results
11 June 2024: The EU election results shows that the overall division of seats in the European Parliament remains largely unchanged. The centre-right European People’s Party (EPP) remains the biggest political family and has even increased seats, the centre-left Socialists & Democrats (S&D) comfortably remain second largest and the liberals also kept third place.
