Operations, safety & infrastructure

ERA is active on all operational, strategic and infrastructure matters affecting members, such as Air Traffic Management including capacity, environment and flow management issues, the ongoing development and deployment of the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme (SESAR), communication/navigation and surveillance (CNS) topics such as datalink, Performance Based Navigation and aircraft tracking. 

Air transport is one of the safest modes of travel and ERA's work on safety aims to further improve this. ERA works closely with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on a range of safety issues and has several member representatives on EU safety forums.
