Mark Anderson
Mark was appointed as the first CEO of Connect Airways’, assuming the new position at the beginning of July 2019, fresh from his previous role as Executive Vice President - Customer, Virgin Atlantic.
In this former role which he held for over two years, Mark successfully led the strategy, creation and delivery of the world-famous Virgin Atlantic customer experience, and was instrumental in putting Customer at the heart of Virgin Atlantic’s goal to be ‘the most loved travel company’.
Prior to this, he was Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Virgin Holidays where, in less than three years, he developed a high performing team that achieved record people engagement scores and operating profits with strong customer advocacy.
With over 25 years of senior management experience in retailing and travel, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature from the University of Southampton, and studied with TIAS Business School in the Netherlands for a Masters in Retail Management.
Mark is keen to contribute to the development of the regional airline agenda across Europe. He feels strongly that regional aviation plays a key role as an important enabler within the global aviation market and that it also contributes significantly towards the growth and sustainable success of local economies. As such, ERA provides the ideal forum for regional airlines to unite and work together with other stakeholders to instigate debate and influence policy whilst remaining within a healthy competitive environment.
