ERA supports EUROCONTROL Flight Dispatcher Days

22 January 2024: EUROCONTROL’s Flight Dispatcher Days took place on 17–18 January. Aimed at flight dispatchers and flight planners, ERA were pleased to support and attend, along with representatives from 20 member airlines. Attendees were able to learn from experts and peers about how to optimise their operations using the Network Manager systems.

The two-day event, organised by EUROCONTROL and attended by over 250 participants including several operational staff from across the ERA airline membership, was the first face-to-face event dedicated to flight dispatchers and flight planners, focussing on enhancing their skills and knowledge in flight plan optimisation and flight management.   

With topics covering operational efficiency, slot swapping and rerouting opportunities, Airport CDM and an insight into the ICAO FF-ICE new flight plan format, the event also included several demonstrations on the latest Network Manager tools and features that have been deployed to support airline operations.

The Network Manager Portal (NMP) which will eventually replace the current NOP and CHMI software as used by airline operational control centres was also showcased for those not familiar with the new interface.
