MEP Oetjen’s question on Book and Claim following industry letter
15 October 2024: At the end of September, several aviation industry associations gathered and sent a letter to TRAN Committee MEPs to ask them to pressure the Commission on issuing the Book and Claim report and give more clarity on possible further measures to ensure SAF availability in Europe.
Following the industry request, MEP Jan-Christoph Oetjen (Germany, Renew) asked two written questions on Book and Claim to the Commission :
ERA holds Cybersecurity workshop

European Commission proposes EU digital travel application
15 October 2024: The European Commission has proposed two initiatives to digitalise passports and identity cards, known as the 'EU Digital Travel Application,' for individuals travelling to and from the Schengen area, with the aim of streamlining border crossings and reducing waiting times for both EU and non-EU citizens.
Fraudulent and phishing emails
All businesses are vulnerable to social engineering and online fraud which is on the increase. It is important that ERA members are vigilant and familiarise themselves with how to recognise and identify fraudulent emails claiming to be from ERA so that they can determine whether an email is a genuine ERA one or not.
Social engineering is the art of manipulating people so they give up confidential information. Some examples of social engineering and in particular fraudulent emails are:
