SATA Air Açores

SATA Air Açores, founded in 1941, is a regional airline based in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, Portugal. Today, SATA Air Açores primarily offers scheduled passenger, cargo and mail services within the Azorean archipelago, effectively linking the nine islands of this remote Atlantic region. SATA Air Açores also provides the connection between the Azores and Madeira on a regular wet-lease operation for Azores Airlines.

Operating a fleet of Bombardier Dash 8-Q200 and Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, SATA Air Açores plays a vital role in supporting the local economy, tourism and the mobility of the Azorean population, operating more than 19,000 flights over the year.

SATA Air Açores is part of SATA Group, which also includes Azores Airlines, responsible for domestic and international routes.

The regional airline also provides ground handling services to air operators landing at the Azores airports.
