Established in Ponta Delgada, Azores, in 1941, SATA Air Açores is a regional air carrier operating inter-island services within the Azorean Archipelago and its nine islands and between Azores and Madeira Island on a regular wet-lease operation for Azores Airlines. SATA Air Açores experienced a remarkable recovery despite the pandemic's effects on the aviation sector, having increased its operational activity by consistently achieving new passenger records. The regional airline operated more than 18,000 flights per year. SATA Air Açores delivers ground handling services to air operators landing at the Azores’ airports.
