Robert Campbell Smith
Robert Campbell Smith is the Director of Flight Operations at Hibernian Airlines leading a team of operations control, pilots, and cabin crew, and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of the flights.
Robert has over 25 years’ experience in aviation having started by gaining a flying scholarship with the UK Royal Air Force in 1992, going on to achieve his private pilot’s licence at 17 years old. He has stayed loyal to regional operations and having flown the Fokker 50, Avro RJ and CRJ aircraft, with KLMuk, VLM, CityJet and now Hibernian Airlines. Today, Robert also assists the ERA as a senior advisor to the team and sits on the EASA Flight Standard Technical Committee and acts as alternate on the EASA Stakeholder Advisory Board representing the ERA. He also is a member of the EU Social Dialogue Committee for aircrew representing the interests of operators on behalf of the ERA. Outside the world of Aviation, Robert has supported local charities and organisations with their fundraising events and enjoys the outdoors whether in his garden or on long walks with the family.
Robert is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society with an MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK.
