Magpie Aviation

Magpie Aviation is enabling long-range, zero-emission flight. The Magpie approach works by towing an electric plane through the sky with a high-performance tow aircraft, which can be swapped out en route to enable longer flights.

Magpie is already conducting crewed flight tests that demonstrate the safety and reliability of the aerotowing technology. The team brings together experience from Google/Alphabet X, Beta Technologies, Kittyhawk, Textron, the US Air Force, Airbus and Cathay Pacific Airways. Collectively, they have helped to design, test and fly 20 aircraft programmes.
