Africa Abajas, Head of Sustainable Aviation, Vertis Environmental Finance

Abajas holds degree in Law with a specialisation in international and aviation regulations. She started her professional career in a Spanish airline association and later became Policy Advisor for the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority, where she was in charge of compliance with the EU ETS and was involved in the process of developing CORSIA. She also worked for European-funded projects on sustainable fuels for aviation. As Head of Sustainable aviation at Vertis, her role focusses on advising aviation stakeholders on compliance with emissions regulations and voluntary abatement initiatives.
