Sebastian Placzek

Sebastian Placzek is a Project Officer – Civil Aeronautics at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS). Within the European Commission, DG DEFIS is responsible for the competitiveness of the Aerospace and Defence (ASD) industrial ecosystem. Within the Civil Aeronautical domain, Placzek supports the facilitation of the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA) launched in 2022 to prepare the market entry of electric and hydrogen-powered aircraft in Europe. Before joining the European Commission in May 2023, Placzek worked for several years as a consultant supporting EU transport policies, including the implementation of the Single European Sky Performance and Charging Schemes.
