George Enescu International Airport Bacau
Bacau ‘George Enescu’ International Airport is the third-largest airport in the North-Eastern part of Romania. The airport is conveniently positioned in the southern area of Bacau city, with excellent road and rail connectivity to the entire region.
With significant investments in the modernisation of airport infrastructure, Bacau Airport has developed continuously over the past years. In May 2025, both directions of the runway will be ILS CAT II category, ensuring operational continuity for airlines, avoiding disruptions due to weather conditions.
Three airlines – Dan Air, Wizz Air and Aeroitalia currently operate from BCM with regular flights to 15 destinations, including major cities in Europe. Romanian air operator Dan Air has also opened a base at the airport. In 2024, BCM reached a record level of passenger traffic with a total of 559,000 passengers processed. The top five destinations are: London LTN, Rome FCO, Milano MXP, Dublin DUB and Torino TRN.
The vision of BCM is to become a major logistics hub in the region, enhancing the opportunities of a new highway network, providing connectivity from North to South and from East to West of the region.
