Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport, part of The Shannon Airport Group, is focused on developing its route network and adjacent Shannon Airport Business Park, home to over 300 companies employing 10,000 people. As the largest airport on Ireland’s West Coast, it serves destinations to the US, UK, and Europe, offering full US preclearance for transatlantic passengers. Shannon has been home to many innovations, from the world’s first duty free shop in 1947 to the world’s first customs free zone for export industry. It was also the birthplace of aircraft leasing pioneer GPA. Shannon’s growing aviation cluster hosts companies operating in areas such as logistics, MRO, leasing, lease transition support, training/education and is a testbed for future mobility air and land services. Shannon was the first airport in Europe to offer a sensory room and are one of only two airports in the world to be accredited by the WHO as an age-friendly airport.
