Waterford Airport
Waterford Regional Airport is located 8km south of Waterford city, in the south east corner of Ireland and serves a catchment of half a million people. The airport is one of only four bases in Ireland that accommodate a year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week search and rescue operation (SAR) and emergency medical evacuation in the south and south east of the country. This service is operated by CHC Ireland under contract with the Irish Government’s Coast Guard service. Regular corporate jet traffic linked with a number of key industries in the region form an important part of Waterford Airport’s activity. The airport site is also used for pilot training with Atlantic Flight Training Academy, and from time to time as a base for marine aviation services associated.
