Jesper Rasmussen has been Director of Flight Standards at EASA since 2017. He is responsible for the development of regulations and oversight (standardisation) of EU National Authorities in the domains of Air Traffic Management (ATM), aircraft maintenance, production, air operations, aircrew and training and aerodromes. His responsibilities also cover approval and oversight of ATM equipment manufacturers, production, maintenance and training organisations. Rasmussen is also responsible for the corresponding annexes of the EU and EASA’s bilateral agreements.
Prior to joining EASA, Rasmussen was the Deputy Director General of the Danish transport authority, where from 2012 he was responsible for aviation and railway safety.
Before entering aviation, Rasmussen occupied other posts in the Danish central government administration in the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Industry for 20 years. Rasmussen has a PhD in social sciences.
