INEA CEF Blending Call Phase 2

Following the SESAR Deployment Manager 2017 Consultation Campaign Kickoff Meeting held in Brussels on 14 February, where the INEA CEF Transport Blending Call was announced, the deadline for the first call for this year has now passed. However, the Deployment Manager would like to highlight to stakeholders that there is another opportunity related to this Call with a second submission date on 30 November 2017. The cut-off date for SDM to be able to manage potential proposals is 12 September 2017. Should you wish to participate, please use the IP Template available here.

To recap, the Blending Call is an innovative approach to grant funding, seeking to increase the participation of private sector investments in trans-European transport infrastructure financing as an alternative or complement to the traditional grant funding from the European Commission. This is distinct and separate from the regular CEF Calls that the SDM have been available over the past two years.

Of the €1bn foreseen within the CEF Transport Blending Call for projects of common interest in the transport sector, €40m of this is made available for the funding objective 3 Single European Sky – SESAR.

The available budget for this second round is dependent on how much is assigned to approved projects in the first round. A detailed roadmap including all steps which need to be performed by both the SDM and Operational Stakeholders’ will be provided mid-August in order to ensure efficient and timely preparation of proposals and submission to INEA before the deadline.
