Lars Sandahl Sørensen (56) Deputy CEO & Chief Operating Officer for SAS Group (Scandinavian Airlines System).
Up until taking on his present responsibilities with SAS, he was engaged as senior advisor and associate in selected private equity capital funds and active as non-executive board member in a number of listed and privately held companies and funds. He furthermore joined as partner in AIMS International, advising on management assessment and organizational excellence.
Lars was prior to these roles Group Senior Vice President & Group Chief
Commercial Officer and part of the global Group Management Board with ISS World, the world leading facilities management service provider. (ISS is active in 53 countries, employing more than 540.000 people world-wide, with an annual turnover of approx. USD 14 billion (DKK 80 billion)).
Preceding this role Lars Sandahl Sørensen was Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer in Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Chief Executive Officer for SAS International.
Sandahl Sørensen joined Scandinavian Airlines International in 2003 as
General Manager, Australia & Pacific. In September 2006, he returned to Scandinavia and took on the role as Chief Commercial Officer in SAS International. A year later he became SAS International’s Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to SAS, Sandahl Sørensen was CEO of the Danish Tourist Board/Visit
Denmark. Preceding this role he was Director of the Scandinavian Promotion
Board in Tokyo and has prior to these held positions in Danish Industries (DI), IKEA and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He holds University degrees in business administration and economics.
Sandahl Sørensen has served on numerous private company and public boards internationally and in Scandinavia.
Lars Sandahl Sørensen has studied and lived in Scandinavia, Japan, USA, UK and Australia. Lars presently lives with his family in Copenhagen, Denmark.
