ERA to present at Thessaloniki Forum

ERA will take part in the upcoming 23rd Plenary Meeting of the Thessaloniki Forum of Airport Charges Regulators, which will be held on 10 June in Brussels. While the Forum typically focuses on airport charges, this edition will include a special session on the Fitness Check of EU airport legislation.

At the Commission’s invitation, ERA will contribute to this important policy discussion through a presentation delivered by one of our members, Luxair, on behalf of the association.

The presentation, titled ‘EU Airport Legislation and Capacity: The Regional Perspective’ will bring forward the regional aviation view on the Airport Charges Directive, the Slot Regulation, and the Ground Handling Directive, with airport capacity as the central thread linking these three legislative instruments. The intervention will highlight how regional carriers are affected by the current framework and what should be considered in any potential revision.

Additionally, the targeted survey launched by the consortium as part of the Fitness Check is now open. ERA will circulate the survey to members shortly.

In the meantime, we would also welcome any direct feedback you may have on the three pieces of legislation. Your insights are vital and will support ERA’s continued work on this topic.
