EASA has recently shared the latest information with regards to the changes to the Fees and Charges Regulation, including feedback from the stakeholder consultation and next steps.
EASA has recently proposed changes to the Fees and Charges Regulation (EU) 2019/2153 following the output from a Study Group on Financial Sustainability which was established by the EASA Management Board to examine EASA’s financial position. Two key recommendations emerged from this review, namely:
- Amending the Fees and Charges Regulation to ensure that revenues cover all costs.
- Pursuing additional revenue from airspace user fees (en-route charging) to support regulatory tasks related to ATM/ANS.
Through the EASA Stakeholder Advisory Body, ERA members were consulted these proposed changes and feedback passed to the Agency earlier this year.
EASA have now published a Common Response Document, as well as the Draft Regulation and Annex which will now be passed for Commission interservice consultation.
ERA has produced a short summary highlighting the points raised by members and the response from EASA is also available.
