PowerJet (www.powerjet.aero), founded in July 2004, is a 50/50 joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines (France) and NPO Saturn (Russia). The company manages the SaM146 engine program, including development, production, marketing and sales, as well as 24/7 customer support and MRO services. Purpose-optimized for the 100-seat Sukhoi Superjet 100, the SaM146 engine gives to the SSJ100 an extended operating range, with two versions: 1S17 and 1S18. The SaM146 entered service in 2011 with Russian carrier Aeroflot.
