He has over 30 years' experience in the aviation industry with 15 years spent serving in different positions such as Chairman of the Board, CEO and COO in various airlines in the Nordic countries including Flying Enterprise, Skyways, Avitrans Nordic, Sverigeflyg, City Airline, Estonian Air, Blue1 and Cimber. He has made several successful transformations in the different airlines.
Simon McNamara
Simon McNamara joined Heart Aerospace in 2023 as its Director Government & Industry Affairs responsible for leading their interaction globally with government bodies, regulators and industry stakeholders with a view to advocating for the advancement of battery electric flight and the ES-30.
Prior to Heart, Simon led IATA’s activities in the United Kingdom & Ireland engaging with Governments across a range of policy areas including sustainability, consumer affairs, air traffic management, aviation taxation and market competition issues.
Clemente Affinito, ATR
An Economics graduate from the University of Naples, Affinito holds an MBA in Business Development (Rome) and a Masters Degree in Aerospace Industry & Marketing (Toulouse). In 1995, he was seconded by Alenia Aeronautica to strengthen the commercial team of Aero International (Regional), the then joint venture between ATR and British Aerospace. Since 1996 he has been covering several commercial positions in ATR dealing with contracts, financing, asset management and sales, placing almost 200 ATR aircraft so far in his career. He is now Vice President Sales Europe.
Jóhanna á Bergi, Atlantic Airways
Johanna was appointed the CEO of Atlantic Airways in 2015. Previously she was the CEO of the shipping and logistic company, Faroe Ship (2006-2015) owned by Icelandic Eimskip. She started her carrier as a sales manager for Faroe Seafood in France (1994-1998), followed by a position as sales and marketing director for JFK Seafood (1998-2015), which is both a ship-owner and runs fish processing plants. In addition to here leadership positions, she has held diverse board positions for the past several years.
David Manzanas, Binter
David has been the General Manager of Binter Airlines since 2017. He started to work in Naysa, a regional Company part of Binter group fourteen years ago, in the financial department. In this earliest years, as a pilot, he combined flying with the potholders positions of Head of ATO, Training Manager and Flight Operational Manager, and finally as Naysa General Manager he conducted the merger between Naysa and Binter Airline in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University, an MBA and a Line Pilot Transport licence.

Marie-Louise Philippe has over 21 years of experience in the aviation industry with a rich international career, being based in France, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. Philippe served in wide ranging commercial leadership roles at Airbus in procurement and customer affairs. She achieved substantial savings while managing various supplier portfolios and built a strong sales record with customers in Europe and Asia.
Patrick Edmond, Altair Advisory
Patrick is the founder and Managing Director of Altair Advisory, a specialist aviation strategy advisory and consulting firm working with a range of industry stakeholders (operators, airports, ANSPs, OEMs, regulators) to formulate strategies for development and sustainability. He is an engineer by training and also holds an MBA and a Masters in Air Transport Management.
Nick Rhodes
Nick represents the ERA membership on all operational and strategic matters relating to Air Traffic Management including capacity, environment and flow management as well as the ongoing development and deployment of the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme (SESAR) He is also responsible for Communication / Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) topics such as Data-Link, Performance Based Navigation and Aircraft Tracking.
Antoine Toulemont
Antoine has joined ERA as Head of Sustainability. He has worked with DGAC, the French CAA, for many years as well as with DG MOVE as Policy Officer. He is an aeronautical engineer and holds a private pilot licence.
