Atlantic Airways is the National Carrier of the Faroe Islands, fully owned by the Faroese Government. It has a total fleet of three fixed-wing aircrafts and two helicopters. The airline is the only provider of scheduled air logistics to and from the Faroe Islands, primarily to Denmark, as well as the UK, Iceland, Norway and Spain. Atlantic Airways is also a player in the aircraft ACMI and charter market. The company also provides domestic helicopter service to the outer Faroese islands, as well as Search-and-Rescue activities under contract to the Faroese Government. Atlantic Airways was the ground breaking operator in Europe to deploy the satellite based RNP AR 0.1 navigation technology.
