Overview

The Directorate's aim is to ensure that any rulemaking programmes proposed by EASA are supported and justified by the need to increase or maximise safety, and that this is appropriately weighed against the financial input that is required.

Background Information

EASA's rulemaking activities include the airworthiness and certification of aircraft and procedures to apply for a Permit to Fly. The Directorate has been particularly proactive in highlighting issues that ERA members have experienced in applying for a Permit to Fly to the Agency and in looking at resolutions to the problems.
